Our Midstream Investments
About Us
NJR Midstream, also known as Storage and Transportation (S&T), invests in, owns and operates assets including natural gas pipeline and storage facilities. Our business provides transportation and storage services to a broad range of customers in the natural gas market including gas distributors, producers, interstate pipelines, electric generators and wholesale gas marketers.
S&T assets include Adelphia Gateway, an 84-mile interstate pipeline company located in southeastern Pennsylvania. It was converted from oil to natural gas and expanded to provide transportation service to markets in the greater Philadelphia region. Adelphia Gateway has the capacity to deliver up to 0.85 Bcf per day and interconnects with multiple end use markets, as well as several interstate pipeline systems including Texas Eastern, Columbia and Transcontinental.
Other assets include natural gas storage facilities in the Gulf Coast and Marcellus Shale regions, with working natural gas capacity of more than 44 Bcf. Leaf River Energy Center is a premier natural gas storage facility strategically located in southeastern Mississippi, which is one of the most significant energy demand centers in the United States. Leaf River connects to seven pipelines and has three salt dome caverns with a combined working natural gas storage capacity of 32 Bcf.
It also has a 50 percent equity interest in Steckman Ridge, a 12 Bcf natural gas storage facility in Bedford County, PA. This facility provides direct access to the Texas Eastern Transmission and Dominion Transmission pipelines, and significant natural gas supplies from the East Coast and Rocky Mountains.
S&T continuously evaluates opportunities to expand our services and footprint through independent or joint venture projects and the acquisition and enhancement of existing infrastructure.
