December 20, 2024 – New Jersey Resources (NYSE: NJR) and the Vin Gopal Civic Association came together to celebrate the spirit of the season by helping make holiday wishes come true for deserving families in Monmouth County. NJR presented the Vin Gopal Civic Association with a $15,000 charitable donation, supporting the event and the Association’s year-round service efforts.
.
NJR volunteers, including President and CEO Steve Westhoven, joined with New Jersey State Senator Vin Gopal and community members to distribute toys to local families in need. This year’s event, hosted at the Ocean First Center at Monmouth University, marked the third consecutive year of NJR’s participation in the Association’s toy drive.
.
“The Vin Gopal Civic Association does an outstanding job supporting Monmouth County families with its holiday toy drive, and it’s great to be a part of such an amazing cause,” said Steve Westhoven, president and CEO of New Jersey Resources. “Making holiday wishes a reality for so many deserving families in our service territory is rewarding and embodies the true spirit of the season.”
.
Each year, NJR and its employees dedicate thousands of hours volunteering to help support local nonprofit and community organizations throughout its service territory, including the Vin Gopal Civic Association. “Thank you to New Jersey Resources for the continued support and sponsorship that is critical to make this holiday toy drive a success,” said State Senator Vin Gopal, president of the Vin Gopal Civic Association. “Their efforts helped make the season brighter for nearly 700 deserving children.”
.
NJR employees have been volunteering and spreading holiday cheer all season long, from collecting more than 180 coats through the United Way of Monmouth County’s Warmest Wishes Coat to supporting Move for Hunger by packing 1,600 holiday meals for local food banks.
.
This year alone, NJR volunteers provided more than 4,000 hours of service and helped make a difference for over 2,000 organizations.
