Customers may be eligible for more than one grant, including the emergency Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)* available through June 30, 2023. NJNG’s Gift of Warmth** can provide a one-time grant of up to $500 to help those experiencing an unanticipated financial hardship pay their natural gas bill. Additionally, income-eligible customers may qualify for the Payment Assistance Gas and Electric (PAGE)*program to help bring their accounts current.

NJNG customers who attend in person must bring the following documents: Social Security cards for all household members, deed or lease, income verification for all household members over the age of 18 and recent copies of natural gas and electricity bills.

“New Jersey Natural Gas customers of varying income levels, including moderate-income households, may qualify for assistance,” said Maria Delaplain, manager of energy assistance at New Jersey Natural Gas. “We’re committed to helping connect eligible customers with available grants and programs to ensure their home heating needs and comfort are met.”

Customers are encouraged to stop by NJNG’s Asbury Park or Lakewood walk-in payment center on the select days through June to meet in person with a CAP agency representative to learn about available resources and eligibility requirements as well as get help with the application process.
