NEW JERSEY NATURAL GAS NAMED AN ENVIRONMENTAL CHAMPION
04/25/2023 - For Immediate ReleaseApril 25, 2023 – New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG) was named an Environmental Champion, according to the Cogent Syndicated 2023 Utility Trusted Brand & Customer Engagement™: Residential study by Escalent. This is the seventh year NJNG has been recognized for its record of environmental responsibility and sustainability leadership since the study’s inception in 2014.
NJNG is one of 30 natural gas and electric utilities nationwide recognized for being proactive and talking about environmental issues that mean the most to their customers — renewable energy, carbon neutrality and energy efficiency. With a score of 711, well above the industry average of 669, NJNG was among these top utilities to receive high marks for its environmental commitment and support of environmental causes.

The emissions reduction goals the company has set prioritizes efforts to make broad-based decarbonization a reality, including its leadership in promoting energy efficiency programs to its customers, advancing clean fuels, including NJNG’s milestone Green Hydrogen facility, and its system investments to improve safety and leak reduction.
