NEW JERSEY NATURAL GAS ANNOUNCES ROAD CONSTRUCTION ON BERKSHIRE VALLEY ROAD IN ROXBURY

04/13/2012 - For Immediate Release

WALL, N.J. – New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG) today announced that it will be installing 3,000 feet of pipeline on Berkshire Valley Road between Dell Avenue and Route 46 in Roxbury, New Jersey, as a part of its ongoing commitment to ensure system reliability and better serve its customers. Work on this phase of the project will begin on Monday, April 16, and is expected to last four weeks. Temporary road closures will be needed with traffic being detoured down Dell Avenue during daytime hours. The road will be reopened at night and on the weekends. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays. Service to customers will not be affected by the work being done.

This project is a part of NJNG’s Accelerated Infrastructure Program (AIP II) approved by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities in 2011, and will add a total of 2.5 miles of steel main between Roxbury and Wharton in Morris County. AIP II is a $60 million, system-wide, infrastructure upgrade program that accelerates previously planned capital expenditures designed to ensure safety, integrity and reliability of NJNG’s delivery system and support economic growth in the state.
