CUSTOMERS OF NEW JERSEY NATURAL GAS ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND INFORMATION SESSION ON TEMPORARY RELIEF FOR UTILITY EXPENSES GRANT
04/03/2012 - For Immediate ReleaseWall, NJ -- New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG) will host a one-day information session on the Temporary Relief for Utility Expenses (TRUE) program. Here, representatives from NJNG and the Affordable Housing Alliance will team with customers to determine if they meet the eligibility requirements and assist them with the application process.
Where: Ocean County Connection, Ocean County Mall near JC Penny’s, Toms River When: Wednesday, April 11, 2012
Time: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The TRUE program is a state-funded, income-based grant administered by the Affordable Housing Alliance through select Community Action Program agencies. As most public energy assistance funds do not meet the needs of all customers, TRUE is designed to provide energy assistance to eligible low- to moderate-income New Jersey households that are experiencing economic hardship and struggling to pay their natural gas and electric bill. For example, a family of four with a household income between $44,712 and $100,252 may qualify.
The TRUE grant benefits households that have not received funding from the Universal Service Fund or the Low Income Heating Energy Assistance Program within the past 12 months, are facing a crisis situation that includes a documented notice of overdue payment for natural gas and/or electric service and have a past history of making regular payments towards their utility bills.
Attend the upcoming information session to find out how we can help you. For more information or to connect with NJNG’s Energy Assistance specialists, call 800-221-0051 or email energyassist@njng.com
